The TCT teeth offer enhanced hardness and wear resistance compared with standard high‑speed steel, allowing the cutter to engage and remove material efficiently as the drill rotates. Hole saws work by cutting an annular kerf around the edge of the hole while leaving the central slug intact until ejected.

Hole saws are installed on a compatible arbor or mandrel which is then secured into the drill’s chuck. A central pilot bit (typically included with arbor) helps centre the saw and stabilise the cut, improving accuracy.
